Ducklings Day 10

Image
The ducklings have been visited by all the different classes in the school this week.   All the children (and staff) were very excited to see them.  The children asked some very interesting questions and learnt more about the ducklings.   Sadly today it was time for the ducklings to return to their farm in Norfolk.  The farmer has collected them and they are now on their way home.  They will be living on a free range farm in Norfolk and as soon as they are old enough will get to live outside. We hope you enjoyed following along with our duck adventures over the past few weeks.   Look out for photos of the Nursery children holding ducklings next week on the Nursery Class Blog page. Look at these funny pictures of the ducklings having a stretch!

Ducklings First Swim!

Image
The ducklings have enjoyed swimming over the past few days.   They knew how to swim as soon as they were put into the water.  We have looked closely at the ducklings webbed feet as they help them to swim.   The ducklings do not have any natural oils on their feathers yet so the teachers had to dry them carefully with a towel when they had finished swimming!! Enjoy these videos and pictures of the ducklings first swim!

Ducklings Day 6

Image
We are having great fun looking after the five lovely ducklings in Nursery!   The ducklings have learnt to eat and drink this week.  They needed a little help first, adults wriggled their fingers in the food to get the ducklings excited so they started pecking.  Once one duckling had learnt to drink from the water container, the others then quickly copied! At the weekend the ducklings had a sleepover at Mrs Spinage's house!  They have started to be very interested in water, splashing it out of the drink container and into the sawdust, making a wet mess to play in.  The ducklings are also getting louder and make a lot of noise when they wake up from a nap! Enjoy some of these pictures.... Can you see how much they have grown already?
